You’ve Got Movie Sign: June’s Last Liveblog Extravaganza!
Posted by Ron on June 29, 2011Well, it’s been a noble experiment, and most importantly, it’s been fun. The Thursday night liveblogging has been a hit, both for us the livebloggers and also in terms of audience members who seem to be checking in or otherwise stumbling across our humble website. Believe me, your presence is appreciated, and your participation is also welcome.
However, all good things must come to an end, and with the end of June comes the end of Turner Classic Movies’ Drive-In Double Feature, so it means Andrew and I are going to have to find something else to liveblog, either on Thursdays or some other day of the week we’ve both got open. (Don’t worry, liveblogging will continue in some form or fashion, if only because it’s so enjoyable for us.) That said, TCM has decided to go out with a bang… err, a blob.
The liveblogging double feature for tonight are a pair of 1958 classics: ”The Blob” and “The H-Man.” ”The Blob” is best known for its incredible theme song, and “The H-Man” is best known for being one of the “Godzilla” team’s few live-action, non-monster sci-fi flicks.
Here’s TCM’s full Thursday Night schedule, for those interested:
08:00 PM – The Blob (1958)
09:30 PM – The H-Man (1958)
11:00 PM – Yhe Magnetic Monster (1953)
12:30 AM – X The Unknown (1956)
02:00 AM – The Thing From Another World (1951)
03:30 AM – It! The Terror From Beyond Space (1958)
And for those that need a reminder, here’s Burt Bacharach’s swingin’ theme song to “The Blob.” Dig it, baby!
